A Letter from the Online Editor:
Forums and Polls and Blogs - Oh, My!

Issue date: 3/6/08 Section: Editorial
Oh, the age of the Internet. Pretty much everything you can find in print -magazines, books, your little sister's diary - you can find online as well. The Sentinel is no exception. Hopefully everyone is aware of this by now, but just in case, the online edition of The Rockhurst Sentinel is available at www.rockhurstsentinel.com.
With the shiny new Sentinel in its second issue, I'd like to point out that the online version of The Sentinel has been through a lot of updates and changes this semester as well.
First, the design of the website has been slightly updated to make it easier to navigate, as well as a little more visually appealing. But more importantly, there are a lot of great new tools and features on the site, ready to be taken advantage of:
Was anyone aware that there have always been message boards on The Sentinel website? Well, I sure wasn't, and I'm the online editor. This is probably because there haven't been any interesting forums up, and the only posts made so far are about internet jobs and bizarre porno websites (Brazilian transsexuals, anyone?) Apparently, the spam bots were not as blithely unaware of the forums as the rest of us.
But hey, don't worry, I've cleaned up the boards and updated the topics. Now, there are forums up about campus happenings, Kansas City attractions, feedback on the website and a general forum where you can talk about anything that strikes your fancy. If there's anything else you'd like to see on the forums, just shoot me an e-mail!
To access the message boards, go to The Sentinel website (www.rockhurtsentinel.com if you didn't read the first paragraph and just randomly found yourself in the middle of this one, lost and confused) and click on the "Message Board" link over on the left-hand navigation column. It's under the heading of "Options." In order to post you'll have to register, but hey, it only takes a second.
I'm pretty excited about the possibilities of the message boards. This could be the most fun and useful feature of the website - people just need to use them! So head on over to the boards, register and start posting yourselves silly.
