What's happening at Rockhurst? Ah, that is the question, isn't it? But it seems that there is no answer. At least, that is what the ever blinking, ever color-changing sign in the Rockroom would have you believe. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, there is a scrolling marquee above the entrance to the Rockroom entrance of Massman Hall. The sign always blinks the same message - what's happening at Rockhurst? Vertically, horizontally, diagonally, by letter, by word, every way imaginable. Now that everyone's caught up, I pose this question - why is apparently nothing happening at Rockhurst? Why does this sign never tell of upcoming events or offer any actual information? A majority of event updates come either on paper flyers or online via email, Facebook, or the now online RDN. I would think the scrolling marquee would be a good way of keeping students informed as they walk in and out of Massman. The Rockroom is a high traffic area, and many students visit or pass through multiple times a day, whether it be for food, for relaxation and socialization, or just going to class. What I envision is a weekly update into the sign, telling of some of the big events happening that week. I'm sure students would take notice of the updates and maybe even attend some of the things. I doubt it would take much time, and I'd say it's worth a shot. Let's see something happen here.

-Like many others, I play in intramural sports. It's enjoyable just playing sports with friends just for fun, no matter how true the end of that statement is. However, I think officiating could be better. Too often refs seem to be ghosts, barely recognizable on the field of play or not there at all. I think it's important for referees to have 3 main qualities:
