Spring Bust to Spring Break

Wanna get away?
Spring is near and of course to college students that can only mean one thing: party break. If you want a new change of pace in weather, you've definitely got to get out of the Midwest.
Although Omaha, St. Louis and Kansas City are all nice and exciting in their own right…it's just too close to home for a real vacation. I myself enjoy seeing and spending time in the mountains, but that is me, so this year I was thinking something totally new was in order. Personally, I'm headed over to the east coast, ready to see some nice sandy beaches in South Carolina. I've heard it was a nice area for a brief weeks-worth getaway. So if you just need to unwind, check out a nice weathered area like the east coast. It's fairly inexpensive, and I'm sure it will be a nice break from the confounds of the Rock.
Speaking with several students brought some insight and ideas about what students plan to do over break. Freshman Andy Tritco says, "I think I just want to get away for a while. Lay on a beach in Mexico and sip on a sweet pink lemonade. I might even be able to get a tan while I'm down there!"
Now, this sounds like the ideal spring vacation, right? Well, I agree...the only problem is that some of us don't make the kind of cash Mr. Tritico does, and can't afford to travel abroad.
Some students p
refer to return home and enjoy a slice of life in a familiar neighborhood. No worries though.
In fact, another freshman, Chris Morris, is headed to his hometown, Atlanta, Georgia to do a bit of partying with old friends. "I just want to check the scene in Atlanta for a while. Kansas City is fun, but it's too close to school for me. I just want to kick it with some of my boys and party."
I can't say I think it's too bad of an idea. After all, you can buy a bus or even train ticket for reasonable prices to check out Ga. The weather is beautiful and the scene is great. One place I've never seen but heard a lot about from sophomore Karl Wenzel is Delaware. Wenzel says it's a cool place to party and relax with friends, so I guess we'll have to take his word for it on that one.
